Policy Statement on the Use of Artificial Intelligence by the Board

Decision-making by the Board members  is a human responsibility. 

The Board hears cases and renders its decisions based on the evidence and submissions before it, as well as the applicable law and jurisprudence. 

The Board members do not use automated decision-making tools or artificial intelligence (AI) generative systems to render their decisions.

All decisions are made by Board members, who are fully responsible for their reasoning, conclusions and findings. Each decision reflects the members’ own analysis, judgment, and evaluation of the evidentiary record, the parties’ submissions and the applicable law and jurisprudence.
