2015–17 Forward Regulatory Plan
A forward regulatory plan is a public list or description of anticipated regulatory changes or actions that a department intends to bring forward or undertake in a specified time frame. It is intended to give consumers, business, other stakeholders and trading partners greater opportunity to assist or take part in the development of regulations and to plan for the future.
The Canada Industrial Relations Board (the Board) has recently completed the process of amending both of its current regulations to reflect the changes necessitated by the creation of the Administrative Tribunals Support Services of Canada.
These amended regulations came into force on November 1, 2014.

Description of the objective
On December 16, 2014, the Employees’ Voting Rights Act received royal assent and will come into force on June 16, 2015. The Act requires that the Canada Industrial Relations Board conduct representation votes to ascertain employee wishes before issuing any certification or revocation order. The CIRB is currently developing proposals to modify the Canada Industrial Relations Board Regulations, 2012, in order to align its procedures and practices with the Act and to expedite the process in order to hold the votes as quickly as possible after the filing of an application.

There are no expected business impacts.
The Board is seeking comments from the client community on the proposed amendments. A consultation document is posted on the CIRB’s website.
Once drafted, the proposed amendments will also be published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, for a prescribed consultation period.
