William G. McMurray

Prior to his appointment to the Board in 2009, Mr. McMurray practised administrative law, specializing in labour and employment law. He has acted as counsel for some of Canada's largest employers in the federal transportation and telecommunications industries.

He appeared, and successfully handled numerous complex cases, before the Canada Industrial Relations Board, the Canada Appeals Office (on occupational health and safety), the Canadian Transportation Agency, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.

Mr. McMurray studied common law and civil law at the University of Ottawa and studied political science at Université Laval. Mr. McMurray taught law courses at McGill University between 2000 and 2009.
