Richard I. Hornung, Q.C.
Vice-Chairperson
Mr. Hornung has a wealth of experience in industrial relations, labour law and the resolution of disputes. He has an established history as an arbitrator and mediator of labour and commercial disputes. He served as full-time Vice-Chairperson of the Canada Labour Relations Board and was Chair of the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board. In addition to his extensive experience in ADR, Mr. Hornung has practised law, taught law at the University of Alberta and instructed mediation at Harvard Law School (PIL).
Mr. Hornung holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Laws from the London School of Economics. He has spoken at numerous conferences and published many papers and reports in the area, including a comprehensive public policy report on construction industry labour relations. He has held, or holds, membership in a number of professional associations, including the National Academy of Arbitrators, the Ontario Labour Management Arbitrators Association and the law societies of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Mr. Hornung conducts a Calgary-based national dispute resolution practice.
